Wave Dancer
Captain: Tim DeGrazio

Wave Dancer is a 44ft Islander Cutter-rigged sailboat. She is hull number 1 of only 10 Islander 44s ever built. With a modified full keel, oversized rigging, 150 gallons of fresh water, 100 gallons of diesel fuel, and a gross weight of just over 13 tons she is a capable Bluewater Cruiser.
With her full keel and heavy displacement she is not the fastest boat, but she is always the prettiest girl at the dance! Designed by Bill Lapworth her keel was laid in 1974 but she wasn't launched until 1999, which explains her modern sail handling controls. (The reason for the 25 year delay is quite a tale. Buy the crew a drink sometime and they will spin the yarn for you.) Even though she is ruggedly built she is full of cruising amenities. From the independent shower stall to the hot and cold pressure water and separate cockpit shower she has been designed for comfort. She boasts an entertainment center (complete with LCD TV, DVD, CD, Satellite TV, and Bose speakers,) sleeping berths for seven, 12 volt refrigeration, electronic chart plotter, full instrumentation, deck wash-down, bimini, awning, and even dock-side air conditioning.
